Pune, 5th June 2026 : The Model Code of Conduct (MCC) imposed for the biennial elections to the Maharashtra Legislative Council’s Local Authorities Constituencies has been withdrawn with immediate effect in the Pune Local Authorities Constituency after the election was declared uncontested.
The result for the Pune Local Authorities Constituency had already been declared earlier following the unopposed election of the candidate. NCP’s Vikram Kakde, son of former MP Sanjay Kakde was elected unopposed for the seat on Thursday after NCP (SP) candidate Shrikant Patil withdrew his nomination.
According to a communication issued by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Maharashtra, the Model Code of Conduct stands withdrawn in all Local Authorities Constituencies where candidates have been elected unopposed and the results have been formally declared.
Accordingly, the District Election Administration has announced that the Model Code of Conduct in force in the Pune Local Authorities Constituency has ceased to operate with immediate effect.
This will allow the local bodies including the Pune Municipal Corporation and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation to start holding regular General Body and Standing Committee Meetings where important decisions related to various existing projects or announcement of new projects can be made.
