Pimpri Chinchwad, 12th June 2026: A 48-year-old employee of an IT company in Hinjawadi allegedly died by suicide at his residence, with his family claiming that prolonged mental harassment, false complaints and workplace humiliation drove him to take the extreme step.

The deceased has been identified as Amit Abhay Brahme (48). Police have registered a case against Vinod Jethalal Palicha and two employees of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), identified as Archana and Shashwati, on charges of allegedly abetting the suicide.

A complaint in this regard was lodged by Amit’s son, Anish Brahme (19), a resident of Bhosari, at Bhosari Police Station on June 9.

According to police, Amit Brahme was employed with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Hinjawadi. He died by suicide on June 2. The family stated in the complaint that a suicide note recovered after his death referred to the mental distress he had allegedly been experiencing.

As per the complaint, Vinod Palicha’s wife had become acquainted with Amit Brahme’s wife through Facebook. Following a family dispute, Palicha’s wife reportedly moved abroad. The complaint alleges that Palicha, harbouring resentment over the matter, filed false complaints of theft and cheating against Amit Brahme.

The family further alleged that Palicha subjected Amit Brahme to mental harassment by sending legal notices through advocates and forwarding defamatory messages to the company’s official email addresses.

In addition, the complaint alleges that Amit Brahme faced humiliating treatment from Archana and Shashwati, who were associated with the DEG project at TCS. According to the family, important projects assigned to him were taken away, he was publicly humiliated, pressured to resign, and threatened with adverse feedback regarding his work performance, causing him severe mental stress.

The complaint further states that Amit Brahme was already under significant emotional strain as his wife was battling a serious illness, including cancer, while he was simultaneously managing family responsibilities.

His family has alleged that the continued mental harassment, defamation and treatment he faced at the workplace ultimately pushed him to take the extreme step.

Based on the complaint, Bhosari Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the allegations. Further investigation is underway.
