Pune: Doctor Arrested in Pimpri-Chinchwad Over Alleged Misconduct with Female Patient

Pimpri-Chinchwad, 15th June 2026: A doctor from Chinchwad has been arrested by Nigdi Police for allegedly behaving inappropriately with a woman admitted to a private hospital for treatment. The incident, which reportedly occurred in the early hours of Sunday, has raised concerns about patient safety in healthcare facilities.

According to Senior Police Inspector Mahesh Bansode of Nigdi Police Station, the 37-year-old woman was undergoing treatment in the women’s ward of a private hospital in the Sambhajinagar area. At around 2 a.m. on Sunday, the doctor on duty allegedly entered the ward and behaved inappropriately with the patient.

Following the alleged incident, the woman informed her relatives, who subsequently approached Nigdi Police Station and lodged a complaint.

Police promptly registered a case and arrested the accused doctor. Further investigation is underway.
