NDRF Deployed After Landslide Buries House in Maval Village

Maval, 6th July 2026: A landslide struck a house in Patan village of Maval taluka in the early hours of Monday, raising fears that an entire family may be trapped under the debris.

According to preliminary information, the incident occurred around daybreak following heavy rainfall in the region. The Pune District Disaster Management Office (DDMO) said that Maval tehsildar had reached the spot soon after the incident and rescue operations were launched.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has also been deployed for the rescue operation. A 30-member team from the 5th Battalion of the NDRF in Pune, led by Inspector Ravinder and supervised by Assistant Commandant Chandraketu Sharma, left for the site at 5.50 am with specialised disaster response equipment. The team comprises one officer, two senior officers and 27 personnel.

Rescue operations were underway at the time of filing this report. Officials said no casualties had been confirmed so far. According to sources, at least three people are likely to be trapped under the debris.
