Swargate, 7th July 2026: Heavy rainfall in Pune on Tuesday led to water leakage inside the Swargate Metro Station, prompting concerns among commuters over the quality of construction at the recently built facility.

According to eyewitnesses, rainwater was seen dripping from multiple locations inside the metro station following the intense downpour. To prevent water from accumulating and causing inconvenience to passengers, metro staff placed buckets at several spots to collect the leaking water.

The incident has drawn criticism from commuters, who questioned how a metro station constructed at a cost of hundreds of crores of rupees could develop leaks during heavy rainfall. Several passengers expressed disappointment and raised concerns about the quality of construction.

The incident has also sparked questions about the station’s infrastructure and whether adequate waterproofing measures were implemented during construction.

An official response from the metro authorities regarding the cause of the leakage and any corrective measures was awaited at the time of publishing.
