Pune Mayor Appeals Citizens to Join Collective Pasaydan Recitation on Ashadhi Ekadashi
Pune, 7th July 2026: In an initiative to spread the message of peace, harmony and the teachings of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj, Pune Mayor Manjusha Deepak Nagpure has called upon citizens to participate in a collective recitation of Pasaydan on July 10 at 9 pm as part of the Ashadhi Ekadashi celebrations.
Held under the theme “Hich Wari, Ram Krishna Hari!”, the initiative encourages Punekars to recite Pasaydan with their families from their homes, fostering a shared prayer for world peace, the welfare of humanity and the well-being of society.
Citizens can participate by registering through the campaign link provided in the bio or by scanning the QR code shared by the organisers.
The initiative aims to preserve and promote Maharashtra’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage while inspiring citizens to embrace the values of unity, equality, compassion, devotion and selfless service embodied in the Warkari tradition. Through the collective recitation of Pasaydan, the campaign seeks to strengthen social harmony and encourage people to come together in prayer during the auspicious occasion of Ashadhi Ekadashi.
Mayor Manjusha Deepak Nagpure said, “The Wari is not just a pilgrimage; it is a timeless tradition that teaches unity, equality, devotion and service to humanity. I appeal to all citizens to participate on July 10 at 9 pm and become part of this spiritual initiative that celebrates our rich cultural heritage.”
The Mayor said the initiative reflects Pune’s deep-rooted association with the Warkari tradition and is intended to encourage families across the city to participate in a moment of collective prayer, reinforcing the values of faith, compassion and communal harmony.
