Mohammadwadi, 13th July 2026 : Residents of Nyati Estate Cooperative Housing Society (CHS) in Prabhag 41 have submitted a memorandum highlighting five long-pending civic issues to Ward 41 Corporator Prachi Alhat, urging immediate intervention and time-bound action by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).

A delegation of five female residents met the corporator at her office on 11th July and handed over a detailed representation listing urgent issues affecting commuters and local residents. The delegation also shared photographs and videos of the problem locations via WhatsApp to support their complaints.

According to the memorandum, the priority issues include overflowing sewage near the HP Petrol Pump opposite Corinthian Club, a dangerous damaged road patch at Kadnagar Chowk, an unusually high and uneven speed breaker on Undri Marg near Rama Dairy, severe potholes and waterlogging from DPS School to NECO Beaumont, and broken roads with construction debris, garbage and waterlogging along the NIBM Road stretch from Kadnagar Chowk towards Star Bazaar.

Residents also pointed out that the road near HV Desai Eye Hospital and nearby stretches continue to pose safety risks during the monsoon due to potholes and water accumulation.

Besides the five priority complaints, the memorandum called for a functional grievance-tracking mechanism, stating that existing complaint channels such as the PMC Road Mitra app and WhatsApp are not functioning effectively. The residents also demanded durable, high-quality road repairs instead of temporary patchwork that deteriorates after every rainy season.

“We deliberately restricted the list to five priority issues so that focused and visible action can be taken quickly. These problems have been pending for a long time despite repeated complaints. We hope this initiative results in time-bound solutions and better coordination between PMC and elected representatives,” said Anuradha Ganguly Ramaswamaiah, one of the delegation members.

Another resident, Madhuri Maitra, said, “These civic issues affect thousands of residents every day. Overflowing sewage, dangerous roads and waterlogging create serious safety and health concerns, especially during the monsoon. We expect durable repairs rather than temporary fixes.”

Corporator Prachi Alhat assured the delegation that the complaints would be taken up with the concerned PMC departments.

“I have received the residents’ memorandum and the supporting photographs and videos. I will coordinate with the concerned PMC authorities and ensure that all the complaints are taken up for necessary action. We will closely follow up on these issues to facilitate their early resolution,” Alhat said.

Residents said they now expect prompt action from PMC and regular updates on the progress of the proposed works. They expressed hope that the civic body would address the issues before the monsoon causes further deterioration and inconvenience.
