Pune, 16th July 2026: Ahead of the inauguration of the redeveloped Baramati Railway Station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS), Central Railway has launched a series of public engagement initiatives, including a ‘Selfie With Station’ campaign and drawing and essay competitions in local schools to mark the station’s transformation.

As part of the campaign, passengers and residents have been invited to click and share photographs with the newly redeveloped Baramati Railway Station. The initiative has witnessed participation from commuters and local citizens capturing the station’s upgraded appearance following its redevelopment.

In addition to the public campaign, drawing and essay competitions were organised at MES Late Gajananrao Bhivrao Deshpande Vidyalaya, Zainabai English Medium School, and M.E.S. High Girls School, Baramati.

The drawing competition was conducted on the theme “मेरे शहर का विकसित स्टेशन कैसा होगा” (What would a developed railway station in my city look like?), encouraging students to depict their vision of a modern railway station through artwork.

The essay competition was based on the theme “विकसित भारत बनाने के लिए मैं क्या करूँगा/करूँगी?” (What will I do to build a Developed India?), where students expressed their ideas on contributing to the country’s development.

The initiatives were organised as part of activities associated with the redevelopment of Baramati Railway Station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, which has upgraded the station with modern passenger amenities, improved accessibility and enhanced infrastructure.

Baramati Railway Station, redeveloped at a cost of ₹11.40 crore, is expected to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 17. The station has been modernised with upgraded passenger facilities, improved circulation areas, enhanced waiting spaces, better sanitation facilities, Divyangjan-friendly amenities, modern signage and expanded parking infrastructure.
