Pending Since 2019, MNGL Gas Pipeline Work from Handewadi Chowk to Simplicity Society to Begin After Monsoon

Handewadi, 31st August 2026: A long-pending MNGL gas pipeline project between Handewadi Chowk and Simplicity Society is expected to begin after the monsoon season, bringing relief to thousands of residents in the area.
The project, which has been pending since 2019, involves road excavation for laying an MNGL gas pipeline along the stretch. MNGL has reportedly completed the necessary payment to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) for excavation and road restoration work.
However, due to the ongoing monsoon season, the actual work is expected to commence after September.
Once completed, the gas pipeline project is expected to benefit housing societies comprising more than 4,000 flat owners in the surrounding areas.
Residents and local representatives have been following up with both PMC and MNGL to expedite the project. Following continuous coordination and efforts, permission for road excavation was obtained through the Pune Municipal Corporation, paving the way for the commencement of the long-awaited work.
The completion of the project is expected to improve access to piped natural gas for thousands of households and address a long-pending infrastructure requirement in the Handewadi area.
