Leopard Kills Pet Dog in Pune’s Lohgaon, Residents Demand Increased Forest Patrols
Lohgaon, 4th August 2026: Panic has gripped residents of Harantale Vasti in Pune’s Lohgaon area after a leopard reportedly killed a pet dog, prompting renewed concerns over the movement of the wild animal in the locality.
According to information received, the leopard attacked and killed a pet dog belonging to local resident Hemraj Khandve. The incident has heightened fear among people living in the area, particularly over the safety of children and domestic animals.
Residents said repeated sightings and incidents involving the leopard have created an atmosphere of anxiety in the neighbourhood. They have urged the Forest Department to intensify patrolling, closely monitor the leopard’s movements, and take appropriate measures to ensure public safety.
