RPO Pune to Hold Special Passport Drive on Aug 8 For Normal Applicants Across 19 Centres
Pune, 4th August 2026: The Regional Passport Office (RPO) of Pune, will organise a special passport drive on August 8 to facilitate faster appointments for applicants under the normal passport category, as part of the Ministry of External Affairs’ initiative to improve passport service delivery.
The special drive will be held from 9 am to 5 pm at 19 Passport Seva Kendras (PSKs) and Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSKs) under the jurisdiction of RPO Pune. It will cover PSKs in Pune and Solapur and 17 POPSKs located in Ahilyanagar, Baramati, Beed, Dharashiv, Ichalkaranji, Jalna, Kolhapur, Latur, Madha, Nanded, Pandharpur, Parbhani, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Sangli, Satara, Shirur and Shrirampur.
The drive is open only to applicants seeking fresh passports or passport re-issue under the normal category. Applicants will have to submit their applications online through the Passport India portal or the mPassport Seva app, make the prescribed payment, and book an appointment for August 8 by selecting their preferred Passport Seva Kendra or Post Office Passport Seva Kendra.
Officials said applicants should ensure they carry all the prescribed documents and meet the eligibility criteria, as incomplete or incorrect documentation may result in the application not being accepted. Under the Passports Act, 1967, the passport authority may also seek additional documents or information, if required, while processing an application.
The RPO clarified that the special drive is exclusively for normal passport appointments, and Tatkaal applications and walk-in applicants will not be entertained. Applicants have been advised to report at their respective centres at least 15 minutes before their scheduled appointment time.
