Pune: Tenant Details Not Registered With Police, 3 Loni Kalbhor Landlords Booked
Pune, 8th August 2026: Three landlords in the Loni Kalbhor area have been booked for allegedly failing to register their tenants’ details with the police, following an inspection by the Pune Police Special Branch.
According to senior police inspector Pradeep Pawar, an order issued by the Pune police commissioner under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) makes it mandatory for landlords, tenants and estate agents to submit tenant details to the concerned police station during the specified period from July 4 to September 1, 2026.
Despite the order being widely publicised, a Special Branch team found that some landlords had failed to comply with it during an inspection in the Loni Kalbhor police station limits.
The inspection found that landlord Wagsing, who owns a property at Rohini Complex in Lonigaon, had not submitted the details of his tenant, Suraj Anup Goswami. Another landlord at the same complex, Rohini Sanjay Waghule, had also failed to register the details of her tenant, Milind Raosaheb Shinde.
Similarly, Dattatray Baburao Khune, owner of Shriram Niwas Building at Ashtapure Mala Road in Ghorpadevasti, had not submitted the details of his tenant, Kunal Shamrao Salunkhe.
Separate cases have been registered against all three landlords at the Loni Kalbhor police station for allegedly disobeying the police commissioner’s order. Further investigation is underway.
Police have warned landlords to ensure that details of all tenants residing in their houses or buildings are submitted to the concerned police station within the stipulated time, failing which action will be taken.
