Kondhwa,17th August 2026: Residents of Brahma Avenue Co-operative Housing Society, Shreehans Nagar, Kondhwa Khurd, have raised serious concerns over the deteriorating condition of the area, alleging that garbage accumulation, inadequate cleanliness, illegal parking, footpath obstruction and safety-related issues have made the locality increasingly difficult for residents.

The residents claim that despite repeatedly approaching the concerned civic and traffic authorities through written complaints and personal meetings, several of the issues continue to remain unresolved.

One of the major concerns raised by residents is the accumulation of garbage in and around the society and nearby roadside areas.

Residents allege that garbage is not being cleared regularly and that the surrounding area has gradually become unhygienic. The accumulation of waste is reportedly resulting in foul smells, flies, mosquitoes and stray animals, creating an unpleasant environment for people living in the area.

Residents are also concerned about the possible health and sanitation risks associated with garbage remaining unattended for long periods.

They have urged the Pune Municipal Corporation and the concerned ward authorities to ensure regular cleaning, timely garbage collection and proper disposal of waste.

According to the residents, the cleanliness issue has been brought to the attention of the concerned officers, senior officials and the Municipal Commissioner through letters as well as personal meetings.

However, they allege that despite repeated complaints, there has been no permanent solution to the problem.

Residents say that they are extremely disappointed with the situation and want the authorities to take visible and immediate action instead of merely accepting complaints.

Another major concern is illegal parking on the roads surrounding the society.

The society has submitted complaints regarding No-Parking restrictions on both sides of the road. However, residents allege that vehicles continue to be parked in these restricted areas.

They claim that a large number of vehicles are being parked illegally, resulting in congestion and making it difficult for residents, pedestrians and other motorists to use the road.

Residents have specifically raised concerns regarding vehicles being parked around Sai Mandir Chowk.

According to the complaint, the continuous parking of vehicles in the area reduces road space and contributes to traffic obstruction.

The residents have requested the traffic police to take immediate action against vehicles violating the No-Parking restrictions.

They have also pointed out that school buses and other large vehicles are allegedly being parked in the No-Parking area.

They’ve said that the presence of such large vehicles further restricts the available road space and could create difficulties for traffic movement as well as emergency vehicles.

The residents have demanded strict enforcement of parking restrictions and immediate removal of vehicles that obstruct the road.

Another issue raised by residents is the obstruction and improper use of the footpath.

Residents allege that the footpath is being used for various activities, forcing pedestrians to walk closer to moving traffic.

This, they say, creates a safety concern, particularly for women, children and senior citizens.

They have requested the authorities to clear the footpath and ensure that it remains accessible to pedestrians.

Residents have also expressed concern over alleged gatherings and nuisance activities in the surrounding area, particularly during evening and late-night hours.

The complaint alleges that some people gather in the area and that alcohol consumption and alleged substance use take place there.

These allegations have been raised by residents and would require verification by the concerned authorities.

Residents say that such activities have created a feeling of insecurity among people living in the society, particularly women and families.

The residents have also expressed concern that vehicles parked on both sides of the road could obstruct emergency services.

They fear that ambulances, fire engines and other emergency vehicles could face difficulty reaching the society if the road remains congested.

They have therefore requested strict enforcement of No-Parking restrictions and regular monitoring of the road.

The residents are demanding coordinated action from the Pune Municipal Corporation, traffic police and other concerned authorities.

Their demands include:

– Immediate removal of accumulated garbage.
– Regular cleaning and garbage collection.
– Proper maintenance of the surrounding public areas.
– Strict enforcement of No-Parking restrictions.
– Towing/crane action against illegally parked vehicles.
– Action against vehicles parked near Sai Mandir Chowk.
– Removal of obstructions from the footpath.
– Regular traffic-police monitoring.
– Increased police patrolling, particularly during evening and night hours.
– Action against activities allegedly causing public nuisance.
– Ensuring uninterrupted access for emergency vehicles.
– A permanent solution instead of temporary action following complaints.

Residents say that the combination of garbage accumulation, poor sanitation, illegal parking, footpath obstruction and alleged nuisance activities is affecting both the quality of life and safety of people in the area.

Speaking about the issue, Kunal Hemrajani said, “The problems have been brought to the attention of the authorities repeatedly, but the situation continues to remain the same. We need immediate and permanent action.”

Anand Kalburgi said, “The garbage and parking problems are creating serious inconvenience for residents. The road and footpath should be kept clear and the No-Parking rules must be properly enforced.”

Ajit Thorat said, “Residents, particularly women, children and senior citizens, are concerned about safety. We are requesting the authorities to take the issue seriously and conduct regular monitoring.”

Abhijeet Kapre said, “We have approached the concerned authorities several times. We want proper cleanliness, regular garbage clearance and strict action against illegal parking and other obstructions.”

The residents have urged the authorities to inspect the area personally and take immediate, coordinated and long-term action to address the civic, traffic and safety-related problems.
