Pune, 21st August 2026: The BJP has complained to Deputy Chief Minister and Pune guardian minister Sunetra Pawar against NCP standing committee member Amol Balwadkar, accusing him of adopting an aggressive and inappropriate stance against senior BJP leaders and disrupting civic proceedings.

BJP house leader Ganesh Bidkar has written to Pawar expressing displeasure over Balwadkar’s conduct and referring to his criticism of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, minister Chandrakant Patil and Pune mayor Manjusha Nagpure.

In his letter, Bidkar claimed that the BJP had adopted a respectful approach towards NCP members after the municipal elections and had also made funds available for development works through the civic budget. He also said NCP members had been given more time than BJP members to speak during general body meetings, citing figures in support of the claim.

Bidkar alleged that Balwadkar had criticised Fadnavis, Patil and Nagpure during the Tiranga Rally held on August 11. He also referred to a proposal submitted by Balwadkar and NCP member Suhas Tingre on August 3 seeking an inquiry into works carried out using MLA development funds in the Kothrud assembly constituency.

At the general body meeting on August 18, Balwadkar reportedly opposed the inclusion of a subject in the agenda. Bidkar described his conduct as “arrogant and unparliamentary” and alleged that it was obstructing the functioning of the civic body.

Bidkar also clarified in his letter that the BJP had decided to reallocate funds from the wards represented by Balwadkar and Tingre, saying the decision was in line with the party’s policy.

Copies of the letter have also been sent to Chief Minister Fadnavis, BJP state president Ravindra Chavan, Union minister of state Murlidhar Mohol and minister Chandrakant Patil.
