Pune, 9th September 2026: The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) will observe a ‘Passenger Day’ on the second Friday of every month across its depots, allowing commuters to directly raise complaints, difficulties and suggestions related to bus services with transport officials.

Under the initiative, passengers can visit their nearest PMPML depot and submit their grievances between 5 pm and 7 pm on the second Friday of every month. The initiative is aimed at making the city’s public transport system more passenger-centric, responsive and reliable.

The programme has been introduced under the direction of PMPML Chairman and Managing Director Mahesh Awhad to obtain direct feedback from commuters and facilitate timely action on issues affecting daily passengers.

Officials to hear complaints at depots
During the two-hour Passenger Day period, designated PMPML officials will be available at each depot to hear complaints and suggestions from commuters. Passengers can directly approach the officials regarding problems encountered while using PMPML buses and services.

According to PMPML, the initiative will help the transport authority gain a better understanding of day-to-day challenges faced by passengers and take appropriate measures to address them.

Written complaints also accepted
Passengers who are unable to visit a depot personally due to work or other commitments can submit written complaints or suggestions at any PMPML depot.

PMPML has appealed to commuters and citizens to make use of the initiative and share their feedback. The transport authority said passenger suggestions and complaints would help improve the quality, efficiency and reliability of its bus services.

The monthly Passenger Day is expected to create a regular channel of communication between PMPML officials and commuters while enabling the transport authority to identify and address service-related issues across its network.
