Pune, 10th September 2026: The Pune District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union, popularly known as Katraj Dairy, has increased its milk procurement rate by Rs 1 per litre, providing relief to dairy farmers amid rising production costs. The revised rates will come into effect from September 11.

The decision was taken by the union’s board to offset the increase in milk production costs and encourage farmers to produce quality milk.

With the revision, the procurement rate for cow milk containing 3.5% fat and 8.5% SNF has increased to Rs 40.80 per litre from Rs 39.80.

Similarly, the rate for buffalo milk with 6% fat and 9% SNF has been raised to Rs 45 per litre from Rs 44.

Manoj Limaye, managing director of the union, said the hike would benefit milk-producing farmers and support quality milk production.
