Pune: Agent Arrested, Three Women Rescued From Kalyani Nagar Hotel In Suspected Sex Trade Case
Pune, 12th September 2026: The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of Pune Police arrested a 35-year-old man and rescued three women during a raid at a hotel in Kalyani Nagar following information about an alleged prostitution operation.
The arrested accused has been identified as Sunil Sahebrao Kurhade (35), a resident of Rahul Nagar, Nigdi.
According to police, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit received information that women were allegedly being made to engage in prostitution at Elite Stay Hotel in Kalyani Nagar. The police team, under the guidance of Police Inspector Ashalata Khapre, verified the information and sent a decoy customer to confirm the allegation.
After the decoy customer gave the pre-arranged signal, police raided the hotel and detained Kurhade, who was allegedly acting as an agent. Three women were rescued from the premises during the operation.
A case has been registered at Yerawada Police Station under provisions of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.
The operation was conducted under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Gauhar Hasan and Assistant Commissioner of Police Shankar Khatke. Police Inspector Ashalata Khapre, Assistant Police Inspector Vikram Misal and police personnel Ishwar Andhale, Tushar Bhivarkar, Babanrao Kedar, Imran Khan Nadaf, Avinasha Kode, Kiran Barde, Vaishali Khedekar and Vaishali Ingle were part of the operation.
