Pimpri Chinchwad, 12th September 2026: Pimpri Chinchwad Mayor Ravi Landge has sought the inclusion of Alandi in the proposed Bhakti-Shakti–Mukai Chowk–Wakad–Nashik Phata–Moshi–Chakan Metro corridor, citing the town’s religious and historical significance and future transportation needs.

Landge made the demand at a meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA), chaired by Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation Murlidhar Mohol in Pune.

The proposed Metro corridor is 45.29 km long and includes 34 stations. Landge urged the authorities to add Alandi to the alignment, considering the large number of pilgrims visiting the religious town and its growing transport requirements.

He also requested Mohol to pursue the necessary approvals for the Metro project and ensure that the Centre provides the required funding for its implementation.

Landge raised several issues concerning Pimpri-Chinchwad at the meeting and stressed the need to strengthen public transport connectivity between the city, Chakan and surrounding areas.
