Lohgaon, 16th September 2026: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has taken action against an unauthorised plotting project in the Khandwe Nagar area of Lohgaon, where an approximately 10-acre project was being developed under the name ‘Samruddhi Hitech City’.

The PMC’s Encroachment and Unauthorised Construction Removal Department demolished the internal cement-concrete roads constructed as part of the plotting project during the action.

The civic action indicates that the PMC is also stepping up enforcement against alleged unauthorised plotting projects, in addition to its ongoing action against unauthorised constructions. The operation was carried out under the direction of Deputy Commissioner of the Encroachment and Unauthorised Construction Removal Department, Somnath Bankar.

Bankar urged citizens to conduct thorough due diligence before purchasing land.

“Citizens should check all necessary permissions, official documents and the zoning of the concerned land before entering into any transaction. They should also verify whether civic amenities and construction permissions can be provided by the municipal corporation in that area before purchasing land,” Bankar said.

Warning to Plotting Developers
The PMC has also warned developers involved in plotting activities against misleading citizens or undertaking plotting projects without the required permissions.

“Those carrying out plotting activities by misleading citizens or without the necessary permissions should stop such practices. Otherwise, legal action will be taken against the concerned persons as per the rules,” Bankar said.

The civic administration has appealed to citizens not to rely solely on advertisements or assurances given by sellers while purchasing land and to independently verify the relevant official documents.

What Citizens Should Check Before Buying Land
Verify all permissions and official documents related to the land.
Check the zoning classification of the land, such as residential, agricultural or industrial.
Confirm whether civic amenities and construction permissions can legally be provided by the PMC in the area.
Do not rely solely on advertisements or assurances from sellers.
Contact the PMC office if there are doubts regarding the legality or development status of a property.
