Lavasa to Get Police Chowki Soon; Pune Rural Police Review Security
Pune, 18th September 2026: A police chowki at Lavasa is expected to become operational shortly, aimed at strengthening safety and security arrangements in Lavasa and the surrounding areas.
The development was discussed during a meeting between representatives of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa, and Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill.
According to the university, the proposed police chowki is expected to improve the accessibility and responsiveness of police services for residents, students, educational institutions, visitors and others in the region.
The university delegation expressed appreciation to SP Gill for his time, support and intervention on matters concerning the safety and security of the Lavasa community.
The meeting was attended by Adv. Dr. Sawatee Yogesh, Dean and Director Dr. Fr. Lijo Thomas, Dr. Fr. Peter M. V., and Javed Khan, Public Relations Officer, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa.
The university said it looks forward to continued coordination with Pune Rural Police to support the safety, security and well-being of the university and the wider local community.
