Pune Metro Sets Up Emergency Medical Rooms at Mandai, Swargate Stations for Ganeshotsav

Pune, 19th September 2026: With huge crowds expected in central Pune during Ganeshotsav, Pune Metro, Sancheti Hospital and Apollo Hospitals have jointly launched emergency medical services at the Mahatma Phule Mandai and Swargate Metro stations.

Special medical rooms have been set up at both stations to provide immediate assistance to commuters and devotees who suffer sudden health issues, injuries or other medical emergencies amid the festival crowds.

Specialist doctors, nurses and medical kits have been deployed at the two stations as part of the initiative. Recently, devotees injured in a minor accident amid the rush at Swargate Metro station were provided immediate first aid by doctors stationed there.

Services including wound dressing, bandaging and other basic emergency treatment are being provided at the stations, enabling injured passengers to receive immediate relief without having to rush to a hospital for minor injuries.

The Pune Metro administration said the safety, convenience and well-being of devotees and commuters remained its top priority. It added that necessary arrangements had been put in place to respond to medical emergencies during the festival rush and ensure safe travel for passengers.
