Pune Weather: Lavasa Records Highest Rainfall at 15 mm; IMD Forecasts Light Rain Through September 26

Pune, 20th September 2026: Lavasa recorded 15 mm of rainfall between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm on Sunday, the highest among the locations monitored in and around Pune, while most other parts of the city and district witnessed light and scattered showers.

According to rainfall observations, Koregaon Park received 2.5 mm, while Purandar recorded 2 mm during the nine-hour period. Girivan, Ambegaon and Magarpatta received 1 mm each, while Dudulgaon recorded 0.5 mm.
No rainfall was recorded at Shivajinagar, Lohgaon, Chinchwad, Lavale and the National Defence Academy (NDA) during the observation period.

Lohgaon records highest maximum temperature

Among the monitored locations, Lohgaon recorded the highest maximum temperature at 33.2 degrees Celsius. Shivajinagar recorded 32 degrees Celsius, while Chinchwad and Koregaon Park registered 31.6 degrees Celsius each.

The maximum temperature was 31.2 degrees Celsius at Magarpatta, 31 degrees Celsius at Lavale and 30.7 degrees Celsius at the NDA.

At 5.30 pm, temperatures had dropped across the monitored locations. Chinchwad recorded 28.1 degrees Celsius, followed by Koregaon Park at 27.9 degrees Celsius, Magarpatta at 27.3 degrees Celsius and Shivajinagar at 27.2 degrees Celsius.

Lohgaon recorded 26.8 degrees Celsius, while the temperature was 24.7 degrees Celsius at the NDA and 24.4 degrees Celsius at Lavale.

Lavale records highest humidity

Relative humidity was highest at Lavale at 91 per cent, followed by Lohgaon at 86 per cent and Magarpatta at 81 per cent.

Humidity stood at 77 per cent at Koregaon Park and the NDA, while Chinchwad recorded 71 per cent and Shivajinagar 69 per cent.

Light rain likely through September 26

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a partly cloudy sky becoming generally cloudy towards the afternoon or evening in Pune and surrounding areas.

Very light to light rainfall is very likely on September 21 and 22 and is likely to continue intermittently from September 23 to 26, according to the forecast.

Maximum temperatures are expected to remain between 31 and 32 degrees Celsius on September 21 and 22 before gradually declining to 29-31 degrees Celsius later in the week.

Minimum temperatures are likely to remain between 22 and 26 degrees Celsius during the period.
