FDA Action At 4 Establishments In Pune Division; Rs 1.18cr Stock Seized
Pune, 22nd September 2026: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has taken legal action against four establishments in the Pune division for allegedly selling and storing prohibited food products, seizing stock worth Rs 1.18 crore and arresting six people.
The FDA registered four FIRs, sealed one establishment and seized two vehicles worth Rs 23 lakh during the crackdown in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad.
Among the seizures, officials recovered 59kg of khoya worth Rs 29,500 from Rasrang in Pimpri. From Sahara Dairy Products in Khed, officials seized 1,808kg of Shahi Sweet Halwa worth Rs 61,600 and 811kg of A-1 Sweet Halwa worth Rs 1.62 lakh, suspected to be misbranded.
At Mangal Naturocare in Bibwewadi, the FDA seized 39.15kg of cow ghee worth Rs 23,316. From Galkhadevi Sweets in Ambegaon Pathar, 30kg of sonpapdi worth Rs 7,500 was seized over allegedly misleading claims.
Officials also seized 119kg of Sweet Mava worth Rs 38,080 from Ganesh Sweets in Pimpri.
Separately, the FDA suspended the licences of two food establishments in the Pune division for violating food safety standards. The licences of RP Hospitalities (Rangla Punjab) in Pashan and Manisha Dosa Centre in Tathawade were suspended after officials found violations of hygiene and health standards.
