Pune: Audi Painted Gold Without RTO Nod, ‘Golden Guys’ Member Fined Rs 33,700

Chinchwad, 24th September 2026: A youth associated with the ‘Golden Guys’ group landed in trouble after traffic police intercepted his gold-coloured Audi at Mahavir Chowk in Chinchwad and found multiple traffic violations, including an unauthorised change in the vehicle’s colour, a fancy number plate and tinted windows.

The Audi, bearing registration number MH 14/EE 7171, was originally black but had been painted gold without the required RTO permission, police said. The vehicle also did not have the mandatory High Security Registration Plate (HSRP).

During the inspection, police found that the vehicle’s insurance had expired in 2024 and it did not have a valid Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate.

Traffic police imposed a fresh fine of Rs 6,500 for the violations. A check of digital records also showed pending traffic challans against the vehicle. Including the previous dues, police recovered a total of Rs 33,700 from the driver.

The vehicle had a fancy number plate carrying the words ‘Golden Guys’ in large letters. Police also found black film on the car’s windows and had it removed on the spot. The unauthorised fancy number plate was also removed.
