Pune: PCMC Proposes Replacing 10 Moshi Land Reservations With Golf Club Project
Pimpri Chinchwad, 10th October 2026: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has proposed scrapping 10 existing land reservations in Moshi and replacing them with a single reservation spread across 61.38 hectares for an international-standard golf course and club.
The proposal is likely to be placed before the civic body’s general body meeting on October 15 for approval. If cleared, the proposal will initiate the process of changing the reservations, subject to the prescribed legal and administrative procedures.
The proposal comes against the backdrop of Municipal Commissioner Dr Vijay Suryawanshi’s vision to develop world-class facilities, including an international-standard golf club and a PCMC club, as part of the city’s long-term development over the next 50 years.
The administration has argued that the existing reservations have not witnessed the expected development. The land parcels, identified under survey numbers 327, 435, 436, 437, 438, 439, 440, 441, 442 and 443 in Moshi, are currently reserved for various purposes under the development plan.
The administration believes a golf club would enhance the city’s global profile as its IT, industrial and service sectors expand, attracting more entrepreneurs, officials and IT professionals from India and abroad.
However, questions remain over the project’s estimated cost, construction and maintenance expenses, and the extent to which ordinary citizens will be able to access the facility.
Even if the general body approves the proposal, the reservation change will not take effect immediately. The PCMC will have to follow Section 37 of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1966, invite public objections and suggestions, and conduct a hearing. The final proposal will then be sent to the state government for approval. The change can proceed only after the government’s consent.
