Pune: Four Booked For Running Illegal Dance Bar Under Orchestra Cover in Maval
Maval, 26th October 2026: CCTV footage allegedly showing women performing obscene dances and patrons showering money on them has led Pune Rural police to book four people for operating an illegal dance bar under the cover of a live orchestra in Sate village of Maval taluka.
The accused include the bar owner, an orchestra manager and two waiters.
The action followed a tip-off received by Wadgaon Maval police inspector Shankar Patil on Friday night that around eight women were performing obscene dances on stage while customers threw money at them.
A police team was sent to the establishment, but the women were no longer present and customers had begun leaving by the time officers arrived, a police officer said.
Investigators subsequently asked the owner to provide CCTV footage from October 22 and 23. The footage allegedly showed women dancing in an obscene manner and a customer handing money to a waiter, who then showered it on the performers, the officer said.
Police have registered a case against the four in connection with the alleged illegal activities.
