Suspected Staged Attack Case Takes Twist As Rana Suryavanshi Leaves Hospital
Pune, 26th October 2026: Shipping company owner and businessman Rana Suryavanshi has reportedly left Ruby Hall Clinic in Pune before police could question him over an alleged attack on him near Baramati airport on October 18, giving a fresh twist to the case.
Suryavanshi was admitted to the hospital with serious injuries after claiming that two unidentified men had assaulted him. Police subsequently arrested suspects in connection with the attack and began investigating whether the incident had been orchestrated to secure enhanced police protection for the businessman.
Investigators suspect Suryavanshi may have staged the attack, though the allegations have not been officially established. Police had planned to question him as part of the probe, but he reportedly left the hospital before the questioning could take place. Police are now searching for him.
Police have also taken action against some of Suryavanshi’s associates and others suspected of involvement in the alleged conspiracy.
Meanwhile, director general of police Sadanand Date had ordered an inquiry into the grounds on which Suryavanshi was provided police security. Additional director general of police Nikhil Gupta has been assigned the responsibility of conducting the inquiry.
The latest development has added another layer to the investigation, with police now tasked with locating Suryavanshi and establishing the circumstances surrounding both the alleged assault and his departure from the hospital.
