Pune, 31st October 2026: Brief showers have done little to ease the city’s warmth, with temperatures expected to climb to 36°C in several areas from November 3, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast.

The mercury is likely to rise after the impact of Cyclone Arnab, an IMD expert said. Shivajinagar is expected to record 35°C on November 1, rising to 36°C from November 3. Similar temperatures are forecast in Magarpatta, Koregaon Park and Lohegaon, while Pashan, Chinchwad, Lavale and NDA are likely to remain slightly cooler at around 35°C.

Friday’s showers brought only limited relief, with Pashan recording 6.8mm rainfall and Magarpatta 6mm. Shivajinagar recorded a maximum of 33.5°C, still 2°C above normal, despite a marginal dip from Thursday’s 34.3°C.

The IMD has forecast mainly clear skies on Saturday, turning cloudy later in the day, with light rain or thundershowers likely in the Ghat areas. The possibility of rain over the city is expected to recede from November 1, although cloudy conditions may persist.

Morning temperatures have also climbed sharply. Shivajinagar’s minimum temperature rose from 14.9°C on October 28 to 21.9°C on October 30, while Magarpatta and Chinchwad recorded over 24°C on Friday morning. Minimum temperatures are expected to ease by 1-2°C across the city after November 1.
