Pune, December 5, 2020: Proposed Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College will be set up on the premises of the Dr Naidu Hospital. However, the construction of this college will take some time.

Therefore it has been decided to start classrooms at Sanas school located in Mangalwar Peth and will be connected to Kamla Nehru Hospital.

A well-equipped 300-bed hospital is required for a medical college. Kamla Nehru Hospital has a capacity of about 400 beds. The hospital is currently being used for obstetrics and related treatments. There are currently six to seven OPDs operating here. However, about 16 OPDs will now be started for medical colleges. Also, ICUs, well-equipped blood banks, and wards will be set up.
