Pune: Environmental Charges Increased For Tourists Visiting Sinhgad Fort

Pune, 19th October 2021: The Pune forest division has increased the environmental charges for vehicles visiting Sinhgad fort from Rs 50 to Rs 100 for four-wheelers and from Rs 20 to Rs 50 for two-wheelers.

The new charges are effective from October 12 when the fort re-opened for tourists after six months.

To reach Sinhgad Fort, one has to go through the boundaries of the forest department. Therefore, the entry of tourists into the forest is considered a nuisance to biodiversity. Therefore, charges are levied on vehicles going to the fort.
