Lucknow: Under the leadership of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Akhilesh Yadav, a new record would be made by planting 10 lakh plants on a single day, on November 07, 2015. The Chief Minister will kickstart the record-setting plantation drive at an identified stretch of land at Maudaha in Hamirpur district.

On the same day, the plantation drive would also be set rolling at nine other places in the state, in presence, of international auditors. Giving this information, a state government spokesman today informed that other than Hamirpur, other places where the plantation drive would be undertaken include Sonebhadra, Lalitpur, Mirzapur, Lakhimpur, Farukkhabad, Chitrakoot, Gautambuddhnagar and Shrawasti. In Lakhimpur, two places have been identified for the plantation drive.

He further added that in Mirzapur, ‘Waterman’ Mr. Rajendra Singh will be taking part in the plantation drive. He also said that grids would be made for plantation and plants of only one variety would be planted in one grid. In every grid, the number of saplings planted would be counted and at a prominent main spot, the area of the place, the number of grids and the number of plants along with the date of plantation would be displayed.

Under this plantation drive, saplings of Peepal, Neem, Jamun, Pakad, Goolar, Sheesham, Kanji, Aanwla, Chilbil and Imli etc. will be planted. It may be pointed out here that till now, the Guinness Book of World Records (GWR) lists 8.50 lakh plantations in a single day as a world record. The plantation drive will begin on November 7, 2015 morning and conclude in the evening.

The GWR international organization is likely to give the certificate of the new record at a ceremony in Saifai on November 21, 2015 at Saifai (Etawah).
