‘AC, Metro, Free Tea’: AMU Student’s Funny Campaign Speech Wins the Internet
Aligarh, 30th April 2026: A student event at Aligarh Muslim University has unexpectedly gone viral after an international student turned a routine campus speech into a full-blown performance, channelling the iconic “Chatur” energy from 3 Idiots.
The student, identified as Ayyuba, took the stage at Nadeem Tarin (NT) Hall during a cultural event linked to upcoming internal polls, delivering a scripted speech that mixed Hindi, Urdu poetry, and exaggerated promises with deliberate dramatic flair. The speech, reportedly written with help from fellow students, leaned into hostel issues, particularly the heat, before spiralling into a list of increasingly unrealistic pledges.
“I won’t make false promises,” he says at one point, before promising air conditioners, a swimming pool, a metro line connecting the hostel, washing machines on every floor, and even free tea three times a day, each line landing with louder cheers from the crowd.
The performance drew immediate comparisons to the “Silencer” speech from the film, with Ayyuba mimicking the same memorised, slightly off-beat delivery style. The crowd, packed into the hall, responded with chants and laughter as the speech progressed, turning what would normally be a routine address into a standout campus moment.
Videos of the speech began circulating widely on social media from the night of April 29, with many users pointing out the student’s fluency in Hindi and comic timing, while others highlighted how the act reflected the everyday, unscripted side of campus life at AMU, especially during peak summer when temperatures routinely cross 40 degrees Celsius.
