Admission Opportunity for Students on RTE Waiting List; Process Open Until March 24
Pune, 18th March 2025: Students on the waiting list for the 25% reserved seats under the Right to Education Act (RTE) can now secure admission. The admission process for these students has begun and will continue until March 24, according to a press release issued by Sharad Gosavi, Director of Primary Education.
Admission Statistics and Lottery Process
This year, a total of 1,09,087 seats have been made available across 8,863 schools in Maharashtra. The RTE admission process received 3,05,152 applications, out of which 1,01,967 students were selected through the lottery system. As of March 10, the admission of 69,610 students had been confirmed. To ensure that the remaining seats are filled, the government has now extended the opportunity to students on the waiting list.
Admission Process for Waitlisted Students
The first phase of admissions for waiting-list students began on March 18. Parents of eligible students will receive an SMS notification based on the availability of seats. However, parents are advised not to rely solely on the SMS and should instead check their application status on the official RTE website.
Steps for Admission Confirmation
Visit the Nearest Verification Center: Parents must carry a printed admission letter along with the required documents.
Document Verification: Documents must be verified by the verification committee by March 24.
Online Admission Confirmation: Once verified, parents should confirm admission online.
Final Admission at the School: After confirmation, parents must visit the allotted school with the admission confirmation receipt to complete the process.
The Directorate of Primary Education has urged parents to complete the admission process within the given timeframe to ensure their child secures a seat.
