Pune, January 29, 2021: After a period of ten months, local train service has been resumed on the Pune-Daund route for the essential service personnel. Passengers are happy that the service has finally started after a long wait and constant demand. However, now it is being demanded that railway service should be started for all citizens.

All trains across the country were closed after the ban was imposed due to Coronavirus pandemic. Local trains on Pune-Lonavla route were started with suburban transport in Mumbai. Essential services employees are allowed to travel in Pune-Lonavla local. However, the essential service personnel were not allowed to travel on the Pune-Daund route.

Therefore, daily travel between Pune and Daund was a big inconvenience for those in need. On behalf of Daund-Pune-Daund Pravasi Sangh, there was a constant demand for starting a train on this route. So the people’s representatives paid attention to this question. The state government had also written to the railways in this regard.

Vikas Deshpande, secretary of the Pravasi Sangha, has demanded that the railways should allow travel for all passengers who also need train services on this route.
