After crowding by people, government cancels relaxations in Mumbai, Pune

Mumbai, 21/04/2020 :   Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has revoked the relaxations given in state’s lockdown for the Mumbai Mahanagar Palika area and Pune Mahanagar Palika area to stop the spread of the Corona virus and directed the administration to observe that  the lockdown is maintained more strictly.  After the state government decided to relax the lockdown to some extent from April 20, the citizens started behaving freely.  The Chief Minister had also expressed his displeasure to this in a live telecast addressed to the citizens and warned that if the restrictions were not followed , the relaxations would be canceled.

In the context of lockdown , the amendment to cancel the recently announced relaxation in the consolidated notification issued by the State Government on April 17 has been passed today and will be applicable for Mumbai Mahanagar Palika and Pune Mahanagar Palika area.  The relaxations will however be applicable for the rest of the state as per the notification issued on April 17.

The relaxation given to e-commerce companies of transportation of electrical and electronics items  has also been canceled.  They can only transport food items, essential items, medicines, and medical equipments.

Pharsan, sweets shops and confectionery shops will remain closed in Mumbai-Pune as per previous orders.

The construction work will be closed in Mumbai and Pune . I T companies’ employees will work from their home.

It has been clarified that the vendors distributing newspapers across the state will be able to deliver the newspapers from door to door while wearing masks, applying disinfectants yi hands and maintaining social distance, but distribution of newspapers in Mumbai and Pune municipal areas as well as in the containment zone will be restricted.
