After Hinjawadi, Now COVID patient detected in Maan village

Pune, May 20, 2020: A woman who came from Mumbai to stay with her daughter in Maan village near IT Park in Hinjawadi, has been detected Coronavirus positive. A few days ago, a man from Pune who went to live with a relative in Hinjawadi was also detected positive.

According to health department officials, the woman had come to live with her daughter on 14th May in an elite society. After she was found COVID positive, six of her contacts have been quarantined and the society completely sealed, said Tehsildar Abhay Chavan. The medical officer of the Maan primary health centre Dr Balaji Lakde said that the report of the concerned woman was positive.

A woman had brought her mother to from Ghatkopar in Mumbai on May 14th. The mother was taken to a private hospital in Baner on May 16 for check up after she complained of health issues. She was advised to undergo COVID19 test. According to the investigation report, the woman was found to be infected with corona. As a precautionary measure, 4 from her flat and two others who had come in contact with the patient have been quarantined.

About a week ago, a man from Pune went to his relative’s place in Hinjawadi, and later he tested Coronavirus positive. The incident had created fear among the residents of Hinjawadi in the Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park area. The residents say that the authorities must do a thorough check-up before allowing movement of people.

Meanwhile, block development officer Sandeep Jathar has appealed to the people to immediately inform the local administration if it is observed that anyone has come to the area after travelling to Pune, Mumbai or any other place.

After the government allowed movement of people during the third phase of lockdown, many people who are stranded in cities like Pune and Mumbai are moving back their hometowns Therefore, the corona has now entered the Maan-Hinjawadi IT Park. Therefore, the administration will have to take a tough stand against those who do not provide information while travelling in future.
