Pune/New Delhi, 13 April 2021: A day after the Maharashtra government cancelled the 10th and 12th board exams, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has appealed to the Central Government to cancel the CBSE board exams of the 10th and 12th in view of the increasing cases of Covid-19.
He said that the safety of children is important. On the issue of the CBSE examination, he said that this time 6 lakh children of Delhi will sit in CBSE examinations and 1 lakh teachers will also be included. Examination centres can become major hotspots if adequate security is not put in place.
Kejriwal said that there is an appeal to central government to cancel the CBSE examinations. By conducting board examinations, coronavirus infection can spread on a wide scale; alternative methods of assessment can be explored. Students can be sent to the next classes on the basis of online examination or internal assessment.
On the fast-rising corona cases in Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Tuesday that there have been more than 13,500 cases of coronavirus infection in the capital in the last 24 hours. The Delhi government is fully vigilant about the situation and is taking all necessary steps to deal with it.
The Chief Minister said that this time the Corona wave is very dangerous. Youth and children are being affected more in this wave. This time 65 percent of the patients are under 45 years of age. I request the youth to strictly follow the Covid guidelines whenever they get out of the house. He said that people have to leave the house for many kinds of responsibility, but only when it is more urgent.
Follow all Covid protocols as you leave your home because you have your own security in hand. Kejriwal said that if you are over 45 years of age, get the vaccine done immediately. These vaccines are being given free of cost in all government hospitals.
Kejriwal said that we do not want to impose lockdown; we are doing big planning and attaching big banquet halls and hotels for this. Patients with the lesser disease will shift to the banquet hole. If someone will need oxygen, treatment can also be done in the banquet hall. Are increasing the capacity of the bed. He informed that the government has declared some government and private hospitals as 100 percent Covid Dedicated Hospital. Cooperation is expected from all.
“I hope the hospitalists also help in this. Non-Covid disease and pre-determined surgery should be delayed such as replacement of the knee. There is a complete arrangement for Emergency. If we manage hospitals, then we will be able to overcome this web of Covid very well. For a patient who is in the hospital, the doctors are checking them, if they can recover at home, then empty the hospital bed.
When they go home, they will still monitor, send with an oximeter, and then hospitalize if their health worsens. If they do not need beds, get them treated at home. Everyone is requested to cooperate as advised by the doctor. Everyone’s life is precious, everyone has to be saved”, he added.
