Ahmednagar Police and Military Intelligence Nab Motorcycle Thief, Save Soldier From Getting Duped

Ahmednagar/ Pune, 7th February 2024: In a collaborative effort between Jerband Kotwali Police Station and Southern Command Military Intelligence, Pune, a successful joint operation unfolded at Ahmednagar Camp (Army) area on 6th February 2024, resulting in the apprehension of a notorious criminal involved in selling a stolen Bullet motorcycle to an army soldier.

The operation commenced when South Command Military Intelligence, Pune, received actionable intelligence from a confidential informant about the potential sale of a stolen black silver-colored Bullet motorcycle without a number in the Ahmednagar Camp (Army) area. Responding promptly, the information was shared with Police Inspector Kotwali Police Station.

Kotwali Police Inspector swiftly mobilized his team, coordinating with the Military Intelligence, Pune team. The joint team conducted a thorough patrol in Ahmednagar Camp (Military) area, leading to the discovery of an unnumbered black and silver-colored Bullet motorcycle.

Upon questioning the suspect, who provided evasive responses, the team took him into custody. Further interrogation revealed that the motorcycle was stolen during the OBC gathering at Clara Bruce Ground, Ahmednagar, on 3rd February 2024.

The accused, identified as Dilip Dattatray Shinde from Gaonlemala, Nagardevale, has a history of criminal activities. Ahmednagar District Crime Records at Kotwali Police Station reveals a registered case (G.R.No. 128/2024 IPC 379) of theft against him. The seized Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle, valued at Rs. 3,50,000/-, was presented at Kotwali Police Station as evidence.

Shinde has three prior cases of motorcycle theft registered against him at Bhingar Camp Police Station, Tofkhana Police Station in District Ahmednagar, and Shirur in District Pune.

The successful operation was executed under the guidance of Rakesh Ola, Superintendent of Police, Ahmednagar, Prashant Khaire, Additional Superintendent of Police, Ahmednagar, and Amol Bharti, Sub-Divisional Police Officer.
