Ahmednagar: Senior Journalist Bal Bothe Arrested From Hyderabad In Rekha Jare Murder Case

Ahmednagar, 13th March 2021: Senior Journalist Bal Bothe, the main conspirator in the murder case of social activist Rekha Jare, has finally been arrested by the police. Police have also arrested all three people who helped him, informed Superintendent of Police Manoj Patil.

Jare was strangled to death on November 30 last year on the Ahmednagar-Pune highway in Jategaon Ghat in Parner taluka. A case was registered against the unidentified accused after the complaint by Jare’s mother. Police arrested two accused people from the photograph clicked by Jare’s son. An FIR is registered with Supa police station.

According to police, Dyaneshwar alias Gudu Shivaji Shinde (Shrirampur), Feroze Raju Sheikh (Rahuri), Aditya Sudhakar Cholake (Kolhar Budruk), Sagar Bhingardive and Rishikesh Pawar (Nagar) have been arrested. After a thorough inquiry, it came to light that Bothe, the editor of Marathi newspaper ‘Sakal’ in Ahmednagar, is the mastermind behind Jare’s assassination.

Bothe had been on the run for about three and a half months. Police could not find him despite raids at various places. Eventually, the police got specific information that he was in Hyderabad. Six teams were formed which raided the area. Besides Bothe, police have nabbed three more persons who helped him in renting a flat, provided a mobile phone and other logistics.
