Pune, 16th July 2025: In a significant move affecting international travel from Pune, Air India has announced the suspension of its Pune-Singapore (AI-2111/10) flight service for the next two and a half months—until September 30. The airline issued an official statement confirming the suspension on Tuesday, citing ongoing safety inspections and technical maintenance.

The development comes in the wake of increased scrutiny of Air India’s fleet by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) following the recent Ahmedabad aircraft incident, which raised concerns about aircraft condition and safety protocols.

Safety Comes First
As part of its preventive action, DGCA initiated comprehensive inspections of Air India’s aircraft, leading to the suspension of multiple flights from June 24 to July 15. However, with safety checks and technical repairs still in progress, the airline has opted to extend the suspension of the Pune-Singapore service until the end of September.

Impact on Domestic and International Travel
The Pune-Singapore route operated via Delhi, with five flights scheduled per week from Pune International Airport. The extended suspension will not only disrupt international connectivity to Southeast Asia but will also impact Pune-Delhi flight frequency, affecting domestic flyers as well.

Refunds and Rebooking Options
In its statement, Air India assured affected passengers that those with advance bookings have been contacted directly. The airline is offering full refunds or rebooking options. Passengers are encouraged to check their emails or contact customer service for assistance.

Gradual Resumption Planned from August
While the full resumption of the Pune-Singapore flight is expected from October 1, Air India has stated that international services will gradually resume from August in a phased manner, subject to regulatory clearances and fleet readiness.
