Air Marshal (Retd) Bhushan Gokhale outlines importance of educational institutes in shaping up society

Pune, Mar 9 2023: Air Marshal (Retired) Bhushan Gokhale has underlined the important role played by educational institutions in shaping up the current generations and the overall society.

He also said that the educational institutions should come forward and take up social causes.

The retired veteran Air Force official was speaking after inaugurating the new women’s hostel at Pune Sevasadan Society, Laxmi Road on March 8, which was the International Women’s Day.

Sevasadan President Varsha Paranjpe, Vice-President Nitin Lele, Managing Committee members Dr Rajiv Dongre, Ashwini Ganu, Saurabh Dhanorkar, General Secretary Chintamani Patwardhan and others were present.

Gokhale also unveiled the bust of Sevasadan’s founder Smt. Ramabai Ranade and hailed her contribution in social reforms.

The new hostel, located in central Pune, can accommodate 70 women.

Gokhale said that the new hostel is beneficial for women, who migrate to Pune for studies or employment while adding that getting the right accommodation in a city like Pune will help make women become self-reliant.

Varsha Paranjape made the opening remarks, while the inaugural program was moderated by Mrunalini Kanitkar.
