Pune/Baramati, 28th January 2026: A CCTV video of the plane crash that killed Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has surfaced, capturing the final moments of the aircraft before it slammed into the ground and exploded.
The footage, recorded by a CCTV camera installed at the Gojubavi Gram Panchayat in Baramati, shows the aircraft losing balance in the air before crashing within seconds. The visuals have brought the tragic incident into sharp focus.
Eyewitnesses said the aircraft appeared unstable while in the air on Wednesday morning. “The plane was circling and looked slightly unsteady,” a local woman said. “As it approached the runway for landing, it suddenly slammed into the ground and exploded. There was a loud sound that could be heard even from our house.”
She said the aircraft was barely 100 feet above the runway when it lost control. “We felt it was going to crash. When we ran towards the site, we saw massive flames, followed by four to five explosions. We couldn’t go near the aircraft because the fire was extremely intense,” she said.
Another eyewitness, Pramod Madurikar, said rescue teams responded immediately. “Fire department personnel reached the spot almost at the same time as ambulances. The bodies were identified and shifted quickly for further procedures,” he said.
According to officials, the aircraft carrying Ajit Pawar (66) and four others, including two pilots, crashed at Baramati airport around 8.45 am. All five people on board were killed in the accident.
Authorities are now analysing the CCTV footage and other technical data to determine the exact cause of the crash.
