Pune/Pimpri, August 15, 2020: Due to heavy rains which have been continuing for the last seven days in Mulshi dam area, the dam is about 85% full. Therefore, water will be released from Mulshi dam from 11 am on Sunday (16th August). Alert has been issued for villages and areas near Mula river bank.
There is heavy rainfall in Tamhini Ghat, Davdi, Ambavane and Shirgaon areas on the western side of Mulshi. Due to heavy rains, the Mulshi dam is about 85 per cent full. Due to this, controlled discharge in Mula river will be started from 11 am on Sunday.
The amount of discharge will be increased or decreased based on the rainfall in the area. The Tata company and the administration have issued safety instructions for removing motor vehicles, keeping cattle away from the river bank, and not entering the river.
