Pune, October 2, 2020: The hotel and restaurant owners of the city have welcomed the decision of the state government to allow dine-in services from October 5. However, several restaurant owners in Pune are in a state of dilemma as there is no clarity on the timing for the dine-in services.

Many owners are still awaiting orders from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) as there are only three days left for preparation, informed Ganesh Shetty, president of Pune Restaurants and Hoteliers Association, Pune (PRAHA).

Recently, the civic body had issued an order allowing takeaway of parcels till 10 pm. But, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) have still not been declared for dine-in services. “We are still awaiting orders from PMC because we need to start the preparation accordingly,” Shetty said.

Punekarnews.in raised this concern to PMC Commissioner Vikram Kumar. “We will issue a separate order in this regard soon”, Kumar informed.

Bhupal Patwardhan, the owner of Kimya Restaurant, said that he is waiting for the guideline from PMC. “We had 45 employees. However, the hotel will be started by 20 employees only”, he said.

Meanwhile, Shetty has requested to allow the dine-in-services till 10 pm. “We can only plan our strategy if the timing is informed to us”, he said.
