Alphonso Mango Arrives In Pune Market; Traders Worship First Box At Market Yard

Pune, January 18, 2021: There is good news for mango lovers. Season’s first mango has arrived at the markets in the city. It is priced at Rs 25,000 for the first box of five dozens mangoes. Last year it was Rs 21,000.

It is said that this year the Alphonso arrived 15 days earlier compared to last year. Trader Namdev Ramchandra Bhosale and sons has got the first consignment. Rambhau Sawant, a farmer from Kunkeshwar in Devgad, has sent these Alphonso to the trader.

The first mango of the season is considered auspicious and as is the tradition, it is worshipped by market committee administrator. Trader Anirudh aka Bapu Bhosale, Aniket Bhosale, Rushikesh Bhosale, Babasaheb Bibve, Dattatray Karmarkar, Balasaheb Konde, ex-director of Market Committee Ganesh Ghule, deputy head of traders association Yuvraj Kachi, Karan Jadhav, Ramdas Gaikwad, Ravi Kul and others were also present on the occasion.

However, the main season for Hapus or Alphonso mangoes is yet to begin.
