Pune, January 18, 2021: Due to the outbreak of bird flu in many states, many chicken eaters are scared to buy the poultry meat. Chicken shops which used to be full of customers are seen empty. However, a small number of customers were seen in the chicken shops on Sunday.

Currently, with the rise of bird flu in many states, many customers have stopped eating eggs and chicken. At present, the price of one kg of chicken in the suburbs is Rs 180 and the price of a dozen eggs is Rs 60. The price of mutton is Rs 700 per kg.

“With the onset of bird flu, chicken egg sales are affected by many factors. Due to fear customers do not buy chicken or eggs. We are informing customers to cook chicken and eggs well before eating,” said chicken seller Irshad Hussain from Kondhwa.

Another shopkeeper Habib Shaikh from Vishrantwadi added, “The government is supporting us with its campaign against rumours. Therefore, the business has survived with some drop-in sale of chicken and eggs.”
