Kalyani Nagar, 2nd November 2024: Residents of Kalyani Nagar have raised concerns over a disruptive incident involving employees of AM Infoweb, who allegedly burst firecrackers in the early hours of November 2. The incident, which reportedly occurred at 3:00 am near Cerebrum IT Park on Dmart Lane, has been described as highly distressing by the affected residents, particularly senior citizens and patients in the area.

According to residents, a group of AM Infoweb employees began bursting firecrackers, causing loud noises that severely impacted the peaceful environment of the area. Despite requests from the residents to cease the activity, citing health concerns and disturbance to sleep, the employees allegedly refused to comply. The firecracker noise reportedly continued morning, further intensifying the frustration among locals.

While some employees showed understanding and apologized, residents noted that others persisted, displaying what they described as a blatant disregard for the laws designed to curb noise pollution. Residents are especially concerned about the impact on vulnerable individuals. “The noise was intolerable and posed severe health risks for elderly individuals and patients,” stated a resident.

The disturbance has prompted locals to question AM Infoweb’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) principles, particularly those that relate to community harmony and welfare.

Kalyani Nagar residents plan to escalate the issue by filing complaints with the police and bringing the matter to the attention of AM Infoweb’s Human Resources department. Residents demand immediate action against the responsible employees.

“90% of the crowd dispersed after an hour upon realizing we were not leaving unless they stopped. We did call the cops at 3:30, but they arrived at 4:40 because the marshals were busy with another crucial issue. One individual took it personally and challenged us by threatening to burst firecrackers on video, claiming it was allowed for five days. It is unfortunate to see an educated crowd behaving so naively and ignorantly of the laws and making such a fuss on the road at such an odd hour,” said one resident who confronted the employees.
