Amar FC sets up summit clash with Khadki United at the 21st Guru Tegh Bahadur gold cup football tournament

Pune, January 14, 2023:Amar FC rode on Gourav Swaminathan’s 10th minute goal to beat Bgheera FC by solitary goal and stormed into the Open category final against Khadki United in the 21st Guru Tegh Bahadur gold cup football tournament at the COEP ground in Shivajinagar here on Saturday. Two finals are slated for Sunday, one in the Veteran’s section and the other in Open category.

Bagheera, the team from NDA was expected to ride over Amar FC, the team from Nevada, but Amr FC took early lead when Gourav Swaminathan put his team ahead in the 10th minute when Yash Pawar set him up.

Earlier in the first semifinal Khadki United defeated Crescent FC 3-1. Faisal karnalkar scored on a pass from Mansoor Shaikh in the 15th minute to put Khadki team ahead early on kiran Thapa made it2-0 in the 28th minute when Jayant Nimbalkar sent in a neat pass. Five minutes later Crescent FC reduced the margin through Rehan Sayyed.

On changing the ends Parvez sShaikh scored on a pass from Lav Sharma in the 58th minute to ensure his team’s grip over the match.
