Three Contractors From Mumbai Kidnapped From Pune For Ransom Of Rs 50 Lakh
Pune, 14th January 2023: Three contractors from Mumbai were abducted from the Market Yard area in broad daylight on Thursday (January 12) for ransom of Rs 50 lakhs. In this case, Pune Police’s crime branch immediately moved the sources, and five teams with the help of the city police rescued the three from Srigonda in Ahmednagar district within a few hours. However, the exact reason behind the abduction is yet to be revealed.
While Praveen Shirke, Vijay Kharade, and Vishal Madane, all residents of Nagar have been detained, their other accomplices are absconding and are being searched for. A complaint has been filed by the brother of an abducted person.
One of the abducted persons is the brother of the complainant. They are originally from Sakinaka, Mumbai. He works as a representative in one of the companies there, while the other two people, one is a relative and the third is his friend. It is reported that he has come to Pune for company work.
On Thursday afternoon, when they came to the Market Yard area, the three were abducted from in front of their Vastushri complex in two four-wheelers around 12 pm. Meanwhile, one of the abductors made a video call through WhatsApp and called the brother of the man, who is a company representative, and informed him that the trio had been abducted. They were also shown beating the three. After that, a ransom of Rs 50 lakh was demanded by him if he want to save them. Abductors told him to hand over the said money to a bodyguard at MG Road in Pune.
The complainant then informed the Market Yard Police about this on Friday (January 13) morning. As soon as the information about the kidnapping was received, five teams were formed under the guidance of Ramnath Pokle, Additional Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch, and the search for the accused was started.
Police started tracing the accused through technical analysis and CCTV cameras in the area. The police received the information that the accused was in Srigonda. According to this, the team laid a trap with the help of the city’s local police and detained the three from a lodge in Srigonda.
At this time, some of the accused have escaped and are being searched for. Two four-wheelers, one SUV and one Creta have been seized from the possession of the accused.
