AMGM to help PMC at COEP Shivaji Nagar Jumbo Covid Center

Pune, 8 September, 2020:  Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has requested AMGM to lend support in administrative work at Jumbo Covid Center, COEP ground. The-state-government-built specialized hospital has been in discussion for poor management since a few weeks.

AMGM responded to the PMC’s call and an urgent meeting was organized at the Jumbo Covid Center to lay a roadmap of the work. Muralidhar Mohol (Mayor, PMC), Rubel Agrawal (Additional Commissioner, PMC), Rajendra Muthe (Deputy Commissioner, PMC), Umesh Zirpe (President, AMGM), Ajit Tate, Sachin Gaikwad and Anand Darekar (Giripremi Members) attended the meeting.

40 volunteers will work in batches from 8 am to 8 pm and will help the administration. The primary responsibility of the volunteers is to set up a coordination between admitted patients and their relatives who often visit the Jumbo Covid Center to know the status of the health of their respective relatives.

AMGM’s more than 100 volunteers already contributed in relief work in the months of July and August. The volunteers worked as Covid Warriors at several Covid Centers, Swab Collection Centers etc. in the city. Saurabh Rao, the divisional Commissioner, Pune Division, appreciated the AMGM volunteer’s contribution and asked AMGM to help PMC again on an urgent basis.

AMGM’s help and relief work is entirely managed by Giripremi, Pune. The group of 40 volunteers will start working 12 hours daily from Thursday in batches at 800-bed Jumbo Covid Center located at COEP ground, Shivaji Nagar, Pune.
